Modern-day alchemist and master goldsmith Gaia Pelikan was first inspired to create his Alkemy line when he found a beautiful, rusty old iron pipe while strolling along a river in Switzerland. He took the pipe home, sliced it, and lined it in gold for comfort ... thus creating the first in his line of iron bands. After much trial and error, Gaia found that forging sheets of shiny stainless steel would recreate the look of iron in a stable and reliable form.

Gaia's practice of making jewelry has always embraced the union of rare and seemingly incongruous metals. As is evident in his work from the beginning, he explores the magic of marrying the earth [iron] with the sun [gold].

The durable steel requires no maintenance and will not rust or oxidize, ensuring years of continuous enjoyment. Gaia welcomes custom orders, and we will be happy to consult with him on your behalf ... regarding variations on the styles presented, or new designs.
